Gunung Tampomas, the northernmost young volcano in western Java, is a small andesitic stratovolcano overlooking the northern coastal plain about halfway between Tangkubanparahu and Cereme volcanoes. Youthful-looking lava flows are found on the flanks of Tampomas volcano.
